Torino Food Distributors
originally commenced business in 1988 when a few pizza shop
owners decided to pool their buying power and buy together in
bulk. The business grew to the point where a small warehouse
was required and then it become too much for the operators to
handle and run in a business like fashion and at the same time
operate their restaurants. The fledgling business was sold to
the current owners in 1991 and has remained in the family hands
ever since. The Carageorge family, were not new to the food
business, but were new to wholesaling. Over the years the business
has grown dramatically through modern management and marketing
techniques and offering personal service, price and quality
to all our customers large or small .
Whilst pizzerias and trattorias were the initial mainstay of
the business it has since expanded into cafes, clubs, hotels,
function centres of course Italian type restaurants. Torino
Food Distributors has tried wherever possible to source from
Australian suppliers and supplements that supply with imported
food stuffs from all over the world. Olive oil from Italy, some
tomatoes from New Zealand and Italy, olives from Greece, herbs
from France and so on. Australian dairy products are among the
finest in the world and we are proud to be one of the most loyal
distributors of Aussie products. Caboolture is now a household
name for Australian cheese and we are one of Sydney’s
larger stockists and wholesalers of this product . We also import
a wide range of dairy products, such as Italian buffalo mozzarella
such is the huge variety of chef’s requirements to cater
for the increasing sophistication of the Australian pallet.
Torino operates its business from the centrally located Sydney
suburb of Marrickville which is close to the ports, the airport,
major freeway hubs and the central business district of Sydney.
This gives Torino Food Distributors the ability to serve every
metro area quickly and efficiently 5 days a week . We do not
pre-pack orders 2 days ahead like some or leave them overnight
in refrigerated trucks. All orders are prepared, packed and
delivered daily and for regular clients daily deliveries are
not a problem. Our warehouses occupy more than 40,000 square
feet of chillers, freezers and dry racked goods, ensuring plenty
of stock and purchasing power. Torino Food Distributors is a
member of a number of buying groups for both local and imported
suppliers of products thereby , ensuring that clients benefit
from maximum buying power through better service, prices and
quality.
Torino Food Distributors business goals are to supply clients
with the most reliable service using the simplest method of
ordering, with total confidence about quality. Torino knows
your time is valuable, little things like not letting the phone
ring more than 5 times before we answer it , or never saying
no to a request for help when someone has incorrectly ordered
or forgotten something, or participating in community programs
for charity events when requested to be a sponsor by a client,
are all part and parcel of being there to assist you in the
tough business environment we operate in these days.
The reputation of our clients rests on the quality of the ingredients
they choose. We at Torino Food Distributors try to source the
best available products at the most competitive price. Italian
pasta’s like Amato and Barilla’s 'selectione oro'
for high grade durum wheat pasta. Tomato’s crushed from
New Zealand where the rain, soil and climate combine to produce
a superb product . Olive oils and black summer truffles from
Italy, saffron from Iran, exotic herbs from France, India and
North African countries, the finest Australian and imported

business is built on deeds not rhetoric, we do what we say
and deliver on all our promises. Being the biggest does not
mean you’re the best, except in our case.
